Plan community service learning projects
Receive mentoring from young adults in the community
Play sports
Engage in cultural arts activities
Guest speakers and workshops will be scheduled for both participants and
their parents or guardians. Family activities will be periodically scheduled so the students
will have opportunities to showcase their accomplishments in the program.
As the Promise Scholars advance, the program’s activities will continue to grow
with them and include visits to colleges and assistance with applications and financial aid
forms. Weekend, summer and evening activities will be added to meet the needs of the
program’s young people and their families.
Our Promise to the Community’s Young People
Every Promise Scholar who remains in the program, maintains regular attendance, and completes High School will receive a $2,500 Scholarship from Family and Children’s Association at graduation to be used for college, trade school or apprenticeship expenses.
