PASS is a free service available for elementary school children in the Hempstead School District. It is offered in the schools during the school day and at the Hagedorn Center after school.
We offer a tutoring and homework program in the schools where we see children on a one to one basis. A volunteer sees a child for an hour and, besides helping with homework, offers friendship and a listening ear. Most volunteers go in twice a week.
We also offer a free after school program where we see children in a group at the Hagedorn Center. Three volunteers help 10 to 12 children for two hours. This program meets twice a week.
