The Hicksville Counseling Center (HCC) provides services on all issues related to alcohol and substance abuse. Comprehensive services, expertly provided by qualified professionals, include counseling, referral and education.
The goal of HCC is to provide the community with the services and support necessary to deal with substance abuse problems which have an impact on family and the community. HCC does this by providing:
Drug and Alcohol Counseling
Pre-Trial Evaluation
HCC staff work with the Nassau County Department of Probation and local attorneys to evaluate the needs of individuals facing court action. These evaluations become part of court proceedings and may prevent unnecessary incarceration.
Drinking/Driving Program
Clients are either self-referred or referred by the court or by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). HCC is an OASAS (Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse) licensed facility which meets the treatment requirements of the DMV.
Family and Marital Counseling
Counseling is available for families and couples to clarify problems and work towards a solution in conjunction with substance abuse treatment.
Treatment
The
Phase I - The focus is on early recovery issues such as becoming abstinent
Phase II - The focus is on relapse prevention and assisting our clients to learn how to live a balanced, substance abuse free lifestyle
Phase III - Aftercare is available for those wanting/needing to continue treatment after completing Phases I & II
Chronic Relapse Track - This track is offered to clients who have experienced previous treatment attempts but are still struggling with maintaining abstinence. The goal is relapse to recovery.
We also offer on-site AA meetings, Narcotics Anonymous and Al-Anon meetings.
Staff
The staff of HCC is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of a psychiatrist and state certified social workers, credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselors (CASAC - Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor) and certified family therapists. Staff has experience and training in individual, group and family therapy.
