HONEST TEA FOR A CAUSE- OUR CAUSE
A dear friend of Family and Children's will donate to Family & Children's 10% of his proceeds from the sale of his remaining interest in Honest Tea to Coke in 2011, or a minimum of $50,000. The exact amount of such proceeds will be based on a formula involving Honest Tea’s total sales during 2010. If you are so inclined, please make Honest Tea products your tea or juice of choice this year.
According to its website (www.honesttea.com), Honest Tea creates and sells “delicious, truly healthy, organic beverages”, principally ready-to-drink teas and juices “with a lot less sugar than most bottled drinks”. Many of its ingredients are purchased on a fair trade basis or in a way that “benefits economically disadvantaged communities”. “A commitment to social responsibility is central to Honest Tea’s identity and purpose”.
You can purchase Honest Tea products in the following stores: King Kullen, Whole Foods, Waldbaum's, 7-Eleven, Fairway, Wild By Nature, Uncle Guiseppe's and certain other specialty food and drug stores.
